Yachats 2013
It’s about a 5 1/2 drive to get there but it is always worth it. We have been going to Yachats for years. John’s parents own a small cabin there and it seems to be the place where the family can all get back together.
There is something about going to a place with the ocean pounding on the rocks, expansive sandy beaches and salt in the air that completely takes me to a place of calmness. Just knowing I’m going helps relax me and lowers my blood pressure.
Marleigh at the beach
When we hit the beach in Lincoln city, from there it’s one more hour to drive but the beach is to my right the entire way.
When the entire family gathers, because the family cabin is very small, we all scatter at different motels and rental properties. Since we have a dog, we stay at a great place that allows dogs right on the beach. There’s something about having your sliding glass door open all night so you can hear the crashing of the waves. This is one of my favorite places to go and just let myself relax.
Best view
Waiting for the sunset, we sit on the deck with our bottle of wine and enjoy the view. Some of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen come right here from this room.
