A former classmate of mine posted on Facebook recently that she is moving to Cancun. I’ve followed her story with all the complications that come with moving to a new country, but what I love more than anything, she is really living! She secured a job at a well-known resort, all she has to do is get there, start working and start living the dream life. Here is her Facebook post:
Why do so many people stay stuck and live in misery when each of us has the power to change our lives? If you aren’t completely happy where you are, you can complain about it to everyone you meet, you can suck it up and die early, or you can do something about it.
I found an article yesterday about a woman who gave up her “six-figure life” and moved her family to an island. She was a successful attorney in Washington D.C. that had it all. I knew my former classmate Terri was going through struggles trying to put together all the pieces of her international move, it’s naturally a huge undertaking! Because it is so big, I knew somewhere in the back of her mind, doubts were creeping in. With all of the details, she was questioning why she was moving in the first place. Here is my post on her Facebook page:
I want to share this article with you! When you take a look at life and remember it is only from born, then the dash in between – however long or short it is – then dead. It’s all we have. If we don’t take advantage of that dash, it’s a waste of what could be 100 years.
In her article, Elle Cosimano shares with you:
It’s a great reminder that we’re all on the run every day just trying to keep up. We don’t take the time to stop and evaluate where we are or what we already have that is right in front of us. We have our tablets, our phones, our screens to keep us on top of everything, so nothing or no one falls through the cracks. Or do they? We all need to take a step back and reach deep within to realize what our goals are. What is the end game? Is it to have the most (_____________) before we die? (fill in the blank)
Take a few steps back and smell the roses. Watch a storm roll in and dance like crazy in the rain. When you give yourself the time to stop, breathe and think, you see things from a whole new perspective.
